Foreign Ministry Legalisation Office is located at El merryland St., El-Bostan, Heliopolis, Cairo.

Click here for a Google Maps link.

Opening Times: 9am-2pm

Cost: 11 L.E per document.

If you need any official documents authenticated by the Egyptian Government then this is the place to go. Foreign birth, death, marriage, divorce and even al-Azhar certificates can be stamped here. There are a few branches within Cairo, however the one above is the closest to Nasr City and said to be the most organised.

Arrive early before the opening time (9am) with the correct change to get your documents stamped as soon as possible, it is possible to arrive at a later time however it will delay the process.

Approach the person taking names of the people waiting for the office and tell him your name to save your place. Once the office is about to open your name and position in the queue will be announced.

Enter the office and submit whichever papers need to be stamped for authentication; proof may be asked for identification purposes. Nobody may submit papers on behalf of anyone besides close family members.

Wait patiently for your name to be announced and once you have been summoned, pay the fee and collect your documents.

بالتوفيق
