As well as being one of the most commonly spoken languages in the world, Arabic is also the language of a rich Islamic heritage. It is the language of the book of Allah, his Prophet and generations of Islamic scholarship. Therefore the benefits of learning the Arabic Language are immeasurable, and that is why students are so eager to learn the language. The quest to learn the Arabic Language has always attracted thousands of students to Egypt. Legalisation of Documents

Foreign Ministry Legalisation Office is located at El merryland St., El-Bostan, Heliopolis, Cairo. Click here for a Google Maps link. Opening Times: 9am-2pm Cost: 11 L.E per document. If you need any official documents authenticated by the Egyptian Government then this is the place to go. Foreign birth, death, marriage, divorce and even al-Azhar certificates can be stamped here. There are a few branches within Cairo, however the one above is the closest to Nasr City and said to be the most organised. Arrive early before the opening time (9am) with the correct change to get your documents stamped as soon as possible, it is possible to arrive at a later time however it will delay the process. Accommodation

Accommodation costs vary greatly. You are able to find a room for 300 up to 2000 and above. Costs can go higher than that, however as a student that would not be ideal as it is firstly a waste of resources, and secondly would not be in an area suitable for studying well. In Nasr City, an apartment can go from 1000 up to 6000 or more depending on the location, whether it is furnished (mafroosh) or not, number of rooms, amenities, etc. Below you will find a rough idea of what prices may be like. Please note that during the summer months when many students come over for a few months, and some come for an extended holiday, prices rise sharply due to this increased demand. Long term leases will be cheaper than shorter ones as a general rule. For example, a flat which is available for 3000 for a year may cost you 4000 for 2-3 months.
